Dawg Unleashed # 18

Positive Herding 201 - July 6 - 10 am CT

Free webinar!

Dawg with you again to announce a webinar on the sexy stuff, working sheep! This webinar takes flanking from start to finish. If this is all new to you, no problem, just jump right in.

Positive herding basics are covered in Barb's book Positive Herding 101. Tricky no? In that book you learn how to get your dog engaged with you and teach the herding skills without any livestock.

A key herding skill is flanking. Flanks are the circular path we dogs take to move around stock without disturbing them, that is the plan anyway. Barb first teaches directionals and grows them into flanks; come bye and away to me.

In Positive Herding 201 the real fun begins, IMO. That is when the flanks and other skills are moved to stock!

The sheep are initially penned in a super small area 'cause they can be a pain. They always want to run off or be witchy. (Not that I couldn't handle them no matter what.)

Once the sheep realize that we dogs are the superior species, they are released from the pen and it gets even more fun!!!

The entire transition, from indoor directionals to outside with loose sheep, is what this webinar is going to cover. Of course, Sir steals the limelight in this webinar. (Which makes no sense as I am obviously the superior herding dog.)

If this excites you as much as it does me, then I hope you will click the link below to sign up for this:
