PHD Blog 88 - Don't miss out!
It's always the season for
positive herding!
I want to use this blog to share my enthusiasm for positive herding. Besides this blog, my FB group, and my YouTube channel, the best way to learn about positive herding is through my books. I have published a set of two books, Positive Herding 101 and Positive Herding 201, which teach a revolutionary new method for training herding.
These books contain herding explanations, learning theory, training plans, definitions, pictures, and videos that lead you and your dog through the learning step by step. This is the only complete program for training positive herding from puppyhood to high-level working dog.
Totally unique, these books introduce your dog to the herding skills without livestock, setting your dog up for success. The training is based on 30 years of herding experience combined with over a decade and a half of positive dog training immersion.
Get your dog engaged with you and move closer and closer to livestock. Then ask your dog to do everyday obedience such as sits and recalls, in the presence of that stock.
Eventually, move your obedience and herding skills near penned livestock. Once your dog is able to handle this situation with confidence, you turn the stock loose and become a true herding team.
Step-by-step, you build your and your dog's herding skills in a fun, safe environment! A true win-win.
If herding is on your dog's holiday wish list, then these books will have visions of herding dancing in your head. Or if you are just looking for fun ways to engage with your dog while helping them to build self-control of their herding instinct in everyday situations, then these books are for you too!
Positive Herding 101 and Positive Herding 201 are currently available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Clean Run, Dogwise and almost all online retailers. Your dog will thank you for your purchase and I do too. Remember, a book review is always GREATLY appreciated!
Happy holidays!
