PHD Blog 12 - Meet Sally
Burning Questions
Let's go to South Africa and have a chat with Sally.
If you could sit down with Sally and ask her anything about her experience training her dog to herd using positive methods or working with me long distance, what would you ask?
You have asked many questions concerning herding training problems with your dogs and how I would handle them. I have addressed some of your concerns in blogs and others privately. I love hearing from you about the challenges that you face in your training! Let's face it, from the most novice to the most experienced trainer, all handlers deal with problems in their training.
In my book, Positive Herding 101, I lead you, step by step, through how I trained my dogs to herd and how I helped Sally train her dog Renn to become a great herding companion. In the book, Sally sometimes chimes in to add a comment, or three, about her different unique take on a certain training situation or experience. In the book, her comments are easy to find, next to the Sally says.. icon.
Full of wit and wisdom, Sally has vast experience working with me training positive herding. As a very competent positive trainer; she has trained agility, foundation behaviors, and tricks, Sally has applied her experience and knowledge of positive training to herding. She was in the same position that many of you find yourselves in today.
So how can Sally help you? I will be giving a webinar on Susan Smith's site, Raising Canine, on May 12, 2021. It is a FREE webinar and I will provide the details of the webinar as it gets closer. For part of this webinar, I will be doing a recorded interview with Sally via Skype or Zoom. That is where you come in.
If you could sit down with Sally and ask her anything about her experience training her dog Renn to herd, what would you ask?
You can post your questions in my FB group, Positive Herding Dog or email me directly at [email protected] and I will gather all of the questions. Then Sally and I will go through them and we will pick the most asked or interesting questions for Sally to answer during the interview.
I will do the interview with Sally in March and send it out as a video to everyone on this list. If you can't make the webinar in May or don't want to wait that long to hear Sally speak, you will have access to the interview by the end of March.
You have one week from today, until the 26th of February 2021, to ask your question by emailing me or posting in my FB group. My email address again is: [email protected] and my FB group is Positive Herding Dog.
Hope to hear from you soon!
